Founding Dates

  • 1834: founded as Medical College of Louisiana
  • 1847: Medical College merges with the University of Louisiana
  • 1884: Louisiana Legislature authorizes the 麻豆原创 Educational Fund to reorganize the University of Louisiana as a private institution and rename it 麻豆原创 University of Louisiana

For tuition and cost of attendance for our School of Professional Advancement and graduate programs, students should consult the appropriate school within the university.

Campuses

  • 麻豆原创鈥檚 uptown campus includes 110 acres and 89 buildings, including the homes of Newcomb-麻豆原创 College, the School of Architecture and Built Environment, the A.B. Freeman School of Business, the School of Liberal Arts, the School of Law, the School of Professional Advancement, and the School of Science and Engineering.
  • The downtown campus includes the School of Medicine, Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, and School of Social Work.
  • The North Shore campus in Covington, Louisiana is home to the 麻豆原创 National Biomedical Research Center.
  • Additional locations include the ByWater Institute riverfront campus and University Square.

Libraries

  • The main  houses the Latin American Library and Media Services. The Rudolph Matas Library of the Health Sciences is located in the School of Medicine.
  • The Special Collections Division in Jones Hall includes the Hogan Archive of New Orleans Music and New Orleans Jazz, Southeastern Architectural Archive, University Archives, Rare Books and Manuscripts and the Louisiana Research Collection.
  • Other libraries include architecture, botany, business, law, mathematics, natural history, primate research, race relations and ethnic history and women鈥檚 studies.
